About Colin Nicolai Photography

  • We are a Dallas, Texas based photography studio specializing in content creation for models, adult entertainers and sex workers in all industries.

  • While the above mentioned specialty sounds extremely niche (and it is), it has taken almost 20 years of navigating all the different photography genres in order to hang our hat on this specialty.

    Colin grew up in Northern Nevada and took film classes at both Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Reno. While students were able to develop and print their photographs on campus during class, that wasn’t enough for Colin. He built a custom darkroom in his bedroom closet so that he was able to work 24/7.

    After college, Colin decided to start making a little extra money on top of his day job by taking high school senior pictures for his co-workers. This quickly grew into a full time job itself and Colin opened a 1,200 square foot photography studio in 2012 in downtown Reno, Nevada.

    Over the next 7 years, Colin photographed everything from: boudoir, corporate branding, editorial, engagements, fashion, headshots, high school seniors, maternity, newborns, portraits, real estate, swimwear, and weddings. Through all those bookings, Colin ultimately realized that as an introvert, he is best suited for one-on-one photoshoots and decided to solely focus on boudoir.

    By focusing on one specialty, Colin was able to tailor his business and offer a one-of-a-kind experience. When clients walked in to the studio, they were greeted with a mimosa and a director’s chair to sit in. Here, the client received a full glam session with a professional hair and makeup artist. Once that was finished, the client went over the outfits they brought and a game plan was created for the session based on the concepts and inspiration photos the client brought. During the session, Colin would walk the client through the session by choosing flattering angles and poses based on each individual client.

    Because of the nature of boudoir photography, Colin started also getting booked by sex workers who needed photos for their websites, OnlyFans and social media platforms. This blossomed into the business that we’re known for today, and we’re glad you found us.

What makes us different?

There are hundreds of great options for photographers in Dallas. To help you choose, here are a few distinguishing factors that set us apart from everyone else:

  • I pride myself on being a creative artist. Let’s pick a random location, or fun props, or create a one-of-a-kind set that no one else has ever done before. I also love collaborating with other artists. Let’s design a full-scale art installation and do a photoshoot in it. Let’s work with a body paint artist and turn your body into a piece of art. Let’s work with a painter or tattoo artist to create a custom backdrop that we can shoot in front of. The options are endless and I have a six page document full of ideas that I’ve already come up with that we can go through together, or we can create something brand new together.

  • I am not just a photographer, I am also a posing coach, a wardrobe specialist, and a cheerleader all-in-one. When we shoot together, I will help pose and direct you during the entire photo shoot, helping highlight your strengths and hiding anything you may be insecure about through poses, props and angles. I will also help you choose which outfits to wear and which order to shoot them in. Finally, I am also your personal cheerleader. I know how nerve-racking taking photos in front of another person can be, so I will do everything I can to help you feel safe, confident and have as much fun as possible while we’re together.

  • Once your photo shoot is finished, I will go through the photos and proof them for blurriness, sharpness and remove any duplicates. I will upload those proofs onto a password protected online gallery so you can choose which ones you want edited. This all happens within two days of your session! No more waiting weeks or sometimes months for a photographer to show you photos!

  • Once your editing choices have been submitted, I will adjust the photos for correct white balance, color, exposure, highlight/shadow control, sharpness and crop accordingly. Then I will skin smooth the images and edit out any flyaway hairs, blemishes, etc. The whole post-production process takes 2-3 business days from the time you submit your edit requests. This is a quicker turnaround process than anyone else in Dallas!

  • I run my business a little differently than most. Generally speaking, whoever physically takes a photograph is legally the copyright owner. When you hire me, I give you a PDF document stating that I release the photos to you and you have permission to use the photos however you wish.

  • Photography is the main part of my business, but I do offer additional services. I can watermark your photos with your logo or any custom text. I offer graphic design help to create banners, menus or advertisements for your website, OnlyFans, or social media accounts.
